Explore how laughter, surprise, and the science of the mind come together in a hypnosis show—and what it reveals about your inner potential.

I have a confession: I’m a hypnotist. Yes, one of those people. The kind who might make you bark like a dog or forget your name on stage in front of a crowd of laughing strangers. And on December 19th and 20th, I’ll be doing just that—well, maybe not the barking part. Unless you’re really into it.
People often meet me with a mix of curiosity and caution. “Is it real?” they ask. “Are you controlling their minds?” “Will I embarrass myself?” My answers? Yes. No. And, well, that depends on your definition of embarrassing.
Stage hypnosis is both fascinating and a little nerve-wracking—it’s like watching a tightrope walker. You’re amazed by the skill, but part of you is waiting for something unexpected to happen. That’s the beauty of it: raw, spontaneous, human nature on full display.
Behind the Curtain: What Happens at a Hypnosis Show
When you attend a hypnosis show, you’re not stepping into a magician’s lair. It’s more like a theater of the mind, and my role isn’t to control anyone—it’s to guide them. A slightly mischievous guide, sure, but still just a guide.
Think of your mind as a supercomputer. Most of the time, you’re just running basic apps—work, errands, endless to-do lists. Your “critical factor,” a mental gatekeeper, blocks anything unfamiliar, like downloading a “spontaneous joy” app. Hypnosis sends that gatekeeper on a coffee break, allowing your subconscious to take center stage.
Here’s the fun part: in this relaxed and focused state, your brain is open to suggestion—not commands, just suggestions.
You might forget your name. For a moment, it just doesn’t seem important.
You could invent a new language. Suddenly, your mind creates an entire dialect, as if you’re performing an alien TED Talk.
Or you might “see” a celebrity in the crowd. Your imagination fills the gaps so vividly it feels like they’re sitting right there.
It’s not mind control; it’s more like improv with your subconscious. The volunteers on stage aren’t puppets—they’re the stars of the show, co-creating the magic with me.
Scientists describe hypnosis as a unique blend of deep relaxation and heightened focus—like that moment right before you fall asleep. In this state, the line between the absurd and the possible blurs, making wild suggestions both hilarious and oddly reasonable.
From Laughter to Life-Changing
But hypnosis isn’t just about stage antics. It’s also a powerful tool for personal growth.
You might wonder: how does pretending to be a chicken relate to breaking bad habits or managing anxiety? The answer lies in the mind’s plasticity and its openness to suggestion.
Stage hypnosis is like fireworks—fun and flashy. Therapeutic hypnosis, on the other hand, is more like rocket fuel, powering real change. Both tap into the same mental operating system: the subconscious, where your habits, beliefs, and emotional triggers live.
For example, I once worked with someone who was terrified of public speaking. Despite knowing she was safe, her brain screamed “Danger!” every time she faced a crowd. Instead of overanalyzing why, we used hypnosis to rewrite the script, associating public speaking with confidence and ease. A few weeks later, she aced her presentation, describing her composure as “Blue Angels for anxiety.”
That’s the essence of hypnosis—it doesn’t force you to act against your will. Instead, it bridges the gap between what you know and what you do.
